Annual Turkey Trot To Benefit GCS Education Foundation Scheduled Thanksgiving Morning

Although online registration ended at midnight last night, registration for the 11th Annual Greeneville City Schools Education Foundation Turkey Trot 5K will also be available at packet pick up today from 4-6pm in the GHS Gymnasium.  Race day registration is available from 6:45-7:45 am tomorrow. The race begins at 8:00 am.

GCS Education Foundation 5K Turkey Trot

The 11th Annual Greeneville City Schools Education Foundation Turkey Trot is set for Thanksgiving morning (11.27.25) at 8am! This year’s route will be USATF certified and timing services will be provided by the State of Franklin Track Club. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome! Awards will be presented in the following divisions:

PreK-3rd Grade Elementary students
3rd – 5th Grade Elementary students
Middle School students
High School students
College students
Adult 40 & under
Adult over 40
Grand Master (50+)
Senior Grand Master (60+)
Teachers/administrators

Participants can only place in ONE category. Many thanks to students from the Machine Tool program at the Greeneville Career & Technical Academy for designing and producing our medals. We also have a costume contest so plan to wear your most creative race attire!

New for this year- all K-12 participants will receive a Christmas ornament, courtesy of the GHS GSIA!

Please remember every dollar raised from this event is returned directly to GCS. The school with the highest percent of participation will receive a cash prize and all other profits are devoted to our teacher grant programs. Just indicate your school affiliation on the registration form! Currently GHS leads in the participation challenge with 19.6%. Eastview and Hal Henard follow with 14.6% and 13.8% participation!
