Keep Greene Beautiful, a program of the Greene County Partnership, is pleased to announce a Hazardous Household Waste Collection Event today, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The event will occur at the Hal Henard Elementary School Parking Lot, 425 East Vann Road.
This event offers residents a safe and convenient way to dispose of hazardous household waste. Items accepted include:
- Household Cleaners: Drain openers, oven cleaners, wood cleaners and polishers, metal cleaners and polishers, toilet bowl cleaners, disinfectants.
- Automotive Products: Fuel additives, grease and rust solvents, air conditioning refrigerants, starter fluids, body putty, coolants, carburetor and fuel injector cleaners.
- Lawn and Garden: Herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, fertilizers.
- Home Maintenance Chemicals: Paint thinners, wood preservatives, paint strippers and removers, adhesives.
- Miscellaneous Items: Fingernail polish remover, pool chemicals, photo processing chemicals, medicines and drugs, reactive materials, aerosols, compressed gas, mercury thermometers, fluorescent light bulbs, lead, needles or sharps in containers.
Please note that batteries, oil, and oil-based paint are accepted daily at any Greene County Convenience Center.
