A cadaver dog from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office aided in a search of an area in Johnson City after a human skull was found.
Officers with the Johnson City Police Department responded on Thursday evening to Pine Oaks Golf Course on Buffalo Road. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a skull had been discovered in a wooded area on the property.
Officials with the William L. Jenkins Forensic Center at ETSU determined the skull to be human. The skull was taken to the center for further examination.
The Johnson City Police Department Criminal Investigation Division and a cadaver dog from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of the area Friday morning. No further evidence was discovered.
According to a press release, the investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
