A Jonesborough man faces charges related to a Thursday morning incident at a South Rufe Taylor Road apartment complex.
Jeffery R. Casey of M. Colley Lane was charged by Greeneville Police with aggravated stalking, violation of an order of protection, stop, halt , frisk and evading arrest.
Police say around 6:30 am, Casey was outside the apartment of a woman who had an active order of protection against him. Upon officers arrival, Casey was inside his car, but refused all commands to roll down the window or exit the vehicle. Police say he then backed out of the parking space and drove around a police cruiser onto South Rufe Taylor Road. Casey then avoided another police cruiser and fled the scene on the Erwin Highway. Later Washington County authorities took Casey into custody at his residence and returned him to Greeneville where he was due in court today.
