Members of the Greene County Education Committee took their monthly meeting on the road Monday afternoon for a tour of the still under construction CTE site at West Greene High School.
Construction Manager Michael Pressinell guided the tour of work in progress as he had done for school board members after their August meeting at West Greene.
Pressinell reports the job is on schedule for completion by November 20th , at which time the school system will deliver equipment for the contractor to install in time for the beginning of school following the Christmas break. In the meantime, classes for CTE students are underway in adjacent classrooms, with students also assisting in some of the construction related efforts.
School Board Chair Rick Tipton says while the 6 classes taught at West Greene will be ready to go when school resumes in January, he is also hopeful the 8 classroom CTE construction at Chuckey Doak will be completed by that time or soon afterwards. A tour of the Chuckey Doak site will be scheduled later.
