A counterfeit $100 bill was discovered inside a bank deposit earlier this week, according to Greeneville police.
The $100 bill was part of a deposit at the Andrew Johnson Bank branch on West Main Street, and came from the Marathon station in the 300 block of the Asheville Highway. The bill was found Monday morning by a bank employee, and an employee of the gas station said he included the bill in the deposit because he was not sure if it was counterfeit or not.
Video surveillance will be reviewed to determine a possible suspect, and the bill was placed into evidence at the Greeneville Police Department.
