Greeneville, TN — The Boys & Girls Club of Greeneville & Greene County recently attended the Boys & Girls Club All-Staff Training at Meadowview Conference Resort & Convention Center. The event provided an opportunity for Club staff to connect with other Boys & Girls Club organizations in our region to share skills, and learn new techniques aimed at enhancing the club experience for youth.
During the event, two outstanding staff members of the Boys & Girls Club of Greeneville & Greene County were recognized for their exceptional contributions to the movement.
Cindy Heavener, who oversees Family Outreach and leads the Social and Emotional Learning program, was awarded the Tennessee Outstanding Part Time Administrative Professional of the Year award. Heavener, known for her dedication and kindness, has gone above and beyond her responsibilities. Her efforts exemplify her commitment to the community and the well-being of the children.
Kyra White, a 10-year veteran of the Boys & Girls Club and a former Youth of the Year winner, received the Tennessee Outstanding Part Time Youth Development Professional of the Year Award. White actively works her nights and weekends to help out at the Club when needed and always offers to help with fundraisers and events. She is currently developing a new Teen Cooking Club and continues to help create engaging programs to support the Club’s mission.
Scott Bullington, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Greeneville & Greene County, shared his excitement about the training and staff achievements. “Attending events like All Staff allow our staff to grow professionally and gain new skills that directly benefit the children we serve,” he said. “We are so proud of Cindy and Kyra for their dedication and the recognition they have received. These awards highlight the outstanding work happening within our organization, and we are excited to see how their efforts will continue to enhance our programs. Our staff are the heart of our organization, and their passion for making a difference in kids’ lives is truly inspiring. We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to guide the next generation toward their own great futures.”
