FINANCIAL REPORT
The first financial report of the new school year from Chief Financial Officer Ellen Lipe included word that the state had withheld the first of three local option sales tax payments due to a state auditing mistake four years ago. $226,014 will be withheld each of the next three months to reimburse the state for the overpayment to the city schools. The Greene County School System and Greene County will also have amounts withheld due to the state issue.
HVAC PURCHASES
The board approved the purchase of three HVAC units to replace units at Hal Henard, the Greeneville High band room and the Eastview gym.
DR. JASON HORNE
Greeneville City Schools Assistant Director of Schools for Administration has recently achieved status as a Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations. He and Chief Financial Officer Ellen Lipe both carry that title of a select group from across the state.
STUDENT SCHOOL BOARD REPRESENTATIVE
Jacey Goodwin was introduced as the new student school board representative for the 2025-2026 school year. She has served as class secretary for 3 years at GHS and is active in dance, track, the National Honor Society, and Scholars Bowl. Jacey plans to study education and political science after graduation. She is the daughter of David and Dr. Jami Goodwin.

Several Greeneville High AP Scholars were recognized at the Greeneville City Board of Education meeting.

GMS STATE TRACK & FIELD
Greeneville Middle School Track & Field athletes and coaches were recognized at the Greeneville City Schools School Board meeting for their outstanding success at the state championship last May.
