Fire Marshall David Weems and Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department Chief Marty Shelton addressed a varied group of attendees during a Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting today.
Weems spoke about fire safety for industries, business and residential. Shelton discussed the importance of volunteer fire departments to the community and how industries and businesses can work with their local volunteer fire department.
Shelton also expressed the need for volunteers, reporting there has been a drastic drop in the number of volunteer firefighters over the past decade.
