The Greene County Commission meeting Monday night is expected to have been the final one at the Greene County Courthouse.
The next monthly meeting of the full commission on Monday, September 15th is planned at the new County Office Administration Center in the former Takoma building on the Asheville Highway.
The board room where the County Commission will meet is on the renovated first floor of the building. Offices planned for that floor will begin the move into their new locations later this month or in September.
In the meantime, renovations continue on the second, third and fourth floors. During a brief Purchasing Committee meeting prior to the commission meeting last night, the low bid was accepted from E.S. Dockery of Gray, Tennessee for reflective ceiling tiles on those three floors. The company also installed similar tiles on the first floor.
The Greene County Clerk’s office is among those who will operate on the first floor. The County Commission Monday night approved a resolution to appropriate $45,000 to purchase new data processing equipment for that new office rom the clerk’s restricted fund.
