By a vote of 16 in favor and 4 against, the Greene County Commission Monday night approved the long debated and controversial campground resolution.
The debate over the resolution has continued over several planning commission meetings and even longer workshops over the past few months.
That debate continued into the full commission meeting Monday evening, specifically over whether the new rules would be enforceable as they relate to recently passed state legislation.
Commissioners Murray, Peters, Carpenter and Clemmer voted no, while Commissioner Burkey was absent. All others voted in favor of the regulations; with the assurance the state would back stipulations outlined in the proclamation.
