A Greene County man died Friday evening in an accident involving a tractor and tree which was being cut on Little Meadow Creek Road property.
The victim is identified as 43 year old Jason Cutshall of Walters Road, Greeneville.
According to a Greene County Sheriff’s Department report issued this morning, Willard Miser stated while he was cutting the tree as Cutshall was putting tension on the tree with the tractor. Once the tree was cut, the tractor rolled back at the same time the tree fell, colliding with each other. Cutshall was stuck between the tree and tractor. The tree, the report indicates, was too large for witnesses to move it off the victim.
The St. James Volunteer Fire Department, Greeneville Emergency and Rescue Squad and Greene County EMS were dispatched to the scene and enlisted the use of nearby farming equipment to extricate the victim. Due to the traumatic injury, an autopsy was ordered.
