The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported Thursday afternoon the state unemployment rate has held steady for the third consecutive month.
Tennessee’s rate for June was 3.5 percent, the same as April and May. During the past month, state employers added 6,100 nonfarm jobs.
The state’s rate a year ago was 3.3 percent. Over the past year, Tennessee employers added 22,900 nonfarm jobs.
The national unemployment rate for June 2025 was 4.1 percent, down from 4.2 percent in May.
