Motorists traveling in and around the Tri-Cities today should be aware of the possibility of additional traffic as part of a nationwide event.
The “No Kings Convoy” will depart Jonesborough around 9:00 this morning and travel along 11-E to Founders Park in Johnson City by 9:30 AM. The convoy will continue to Bristol and meet at the train station at 10:25 AM, followed by a stop in Kingsport at Lowe’s at 11:05.
The convoy will reach its destination at Memorial Gardens Park in Kingsport at 11:15 AM. where the demonstration will take place until 1:30 this afternoon.
Organizers of the event stress that while participants will be in procession, they will obey all traffic control devices and posted speed limits.
