The driver of a pick up truck was fortunate to escape injury in a Saturday accident.
The man told officers he was traveling on Iron Bridge Road in Mosheim when he dropped his container of tea. When he reached down to retrieve it and looked away , his right tires went off the side of the roadway. His truck then traveled down an embankment and wound up in Lake Creek near the Gilbert Mill Road intersection.
The truck quickly became fully submerged, but not before the driver was able to climb on top of the cab, then swim to the shore.
