Acting on a tip , Greene County Deputy Janetha Gregory responded to a call just after midnight Sunday of a man outside the Davy Crockett Travel Center on Van Hill Road, attempting to sell a motorcycle.
The anonymous caller to 9-1-1 reported the bike was stolen.
When Gregory arrived, the man was standing with the Suzuki GSXR600. He gave a fake name and address and after a records check showing the motorcycle had indeed been stolen, he was taken into custody. A search of his back pack led to him being identified as Matthew T. Lingerfelt of Scenic Loop Road, Pigeon Forge.
A Sessions Court appearance was scheduled for today.
