The TOPS, or Tennessee Online Public School at Greeneville , will be accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year beginning April 1st.
The virtual program and its continuing partnership with Bristol City Schools was granted approval for the new school year by the Board of Education Tuesday night.
Board member Dr. Craig Shepherd however, expressed concerns about the growth and direction of the program, calling for an oversite committee to set goals for and better monitor the progress of TOPS.
TOPS Principal Dr. Lindsey Weeden says there are currently 129 students enrolled in the online program for the current school year. Assistant Director for Instruction Richard Tipton says the program has been under budget and has had good academic results since it began.
