An investigation is underway after discrepancies were discovered in a bank account that is involved in fundraising for Greeneville City Schools.
The Greeneville Schools Support Corporation notified Greeneville police on Monday that two checks had been written for a total of $1,453.10 as reimbursement for two purchases. However, the receipts that were turned in did not appear to be legitimate, and the company that supposedly sent the receipts said they could find no record of the orders.
The Greeneville Police Department has been advised of the potential embezzlement.
