The Tusculum Board of Mayor and Commissioners held their monthly meeting Monday night at Tusculum Town Hall.
PAVING PROJECT PROJECT BID AWARDED
The local firm of Brown Brothers was awarded the street repair and replacing bid with the low bid of $66,865.
The work will be on:
College Hills Drive at West Street Intersection
345 to 381 McAfee Road
Greenwood Road at Erwin Highway Intersection
Sam Doak Drive near Tusculum Bypass
Cumberland Drive beginning at Shiloh Road
Edens Road west of Tusculum Bypass
The work is scheduled for completion fifteen workable days after the contract is signed.
LOCAL MATCH FOR SEWER PROJECT GRANT WAIVED
Mayor Alan Corley notified the commission as part of Hurricane Relief, the state had offered and he had accepted forgiveness of the $234,000 local portion Tusculum would have had to pay of the one million dollar sewer project grant through the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation and ARP funding.
PARTNERSHIP UPDATE
Greene County Partnership President and CEO Jeff Taylor told board members the state has shortlisted two projects, one being a hugh development at Greene Valley and another on Snapps Ferry Road property.
POLICE CHIEF UPDATES SPEED CAMERAS NEAR DOAK, CDMS, CDHS
Tusculum Police Chief Danny Greene says installation of speed cameras near Doak, Chuckey Doak Middle and Chuckey Doak High School is on track. Installation of the cameras and warning signage on Sam Doak Drive, 11-E and Ripley Island Road should be completed by the new school year in August.
FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Kerri Taylor with the Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department reported it had been a busy month with the majority of their calls having been not surprisingly, grass fires.
