The Greene County School System received only one application to become the new Director of Schools.
School Board Chair Rick Tipton told Radio Greeneville News last night the application was the only one submitted prior to the application deadline at the close of the business day Thursday.
When the school board began the process of searching for a new Director to replace the now retired David McLain , they decided to limit it to in-system employees only.
Tipton says he and school board members will decide their next step in the hiring process next week.
Earlier, Interim Director Dr. Chris Malone told Radio Greeneville News he had submitted his application for the job last month.
