The Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 7000 block of East Andrew Johnson Highway around 8:15 PM Friday after a man reportedly set a fire in order to get his truck out of the snow-covered driveway.
According to a Greene County Sheriff’s Department report, the man pulled down the driveway and became stuck. The man then reportedly poured gasoline on the driveway and set it on fire in an attempt to get the truck out of the sloped driveway. The fire department initially thought it was suspicious due to the vehicle not having a tag and believed the man was possibly trying to catch the truck on fire.
However, the man had the title to the truck and told deputies that he just bought the vehicle and has not been able to register it yet. The truck was also insured, according to the report.
After the investigation was completed, firefighters sprayed the driveway with water to assist the man in getting the truck onto East Andrew Johnson Highway.
