The driver of a motorcycle died when his cycle hit a car head-on Friday evening in Greene County.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the rider as Christoper Sible, age 43. Sible was traveling south on Gap Creek Road, about two miles from the Rogersville Road intersection, when his motorcycle crossed into the oncoming lane and hit a minivan. The THP investigation said the accident happened just after 6:30 PM.

The driver of the van, Rita Spears, was not injured. Sible was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

In addition to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Greeneville Emergency & Rescue Squad, EMS, and the Town of Mosheim Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.

The accident marks the 22nd traffic fatality of the year in Greene County

The mother of the victim , Brenda Littell, has begun a go fund me page seeking financial help to bring him home to Harleyville, South Carolina, with all proceeds going towards bringing him home for funeral services.

The accident marks the 22nd traffic fatality of the year in Greene County, up from 17 fatalities in both 2022 and 2023.
