A jury has been seated in the Sean Williams child pornography case in Federal Court in Greeneville , this after the Judge failed to come to an agreement with Williams on a possible plea deal.
U.S. District Judge Ronnie Greer had given Williams until Noon Tuesday to consider the plea. Williams had said earlier in the day he had not heard of a possible plea deal until that time. Williams appeared to be weighing his options of time between bars with a plea deal versus a possible conviction. The plea deal came so close to being accepted that while answering yes to the Judge on the question of “was he accepting the deal because he was indeed guilty, Williams seemed hesitant and somewhat argumentative about his answer. Judge Greer then moved on with the process of selecting the 12 person jury.
With the jury now in place , testimony in the trial is expected to start today. It’s believed the trial could last into early next week.
