A new left turn lane at McKee Street to West Bernard should help alleviate traffic backup in the area.
Logan Ricker, the Public Works Traffic Signal Technician, says the new traffic set up will allow for a lane and signal to turn left onto West Bernard from McKee.
Greeneville City Council members Tuesday approved the plan Tuesday.
The purchase of an asphalt patch truck for the Greeneville Public Works Department will allow for quicker response to, and repairing of potholes on city streets.
Plans for the truck were addressed by Public Works Assistant Director Scott Keith prior to approval of the purchase using monies already included in the current year budget for the vehicle.
Several items related to the upcoming holiday season were approved by the Greeneville City Council on Tuesday.
Partnership General Manager Kendra Hopson updated the board on plans for the Greeneville Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 8th.
Main Street Greeneville Director Jann Mirkov also told the board of plans for the annual “Christmas In Downtown” on Friday, December 6th. The event features the lighting of the Christmas tree and other activities. Approval of the special event application, approved by the City Council, allows for the closing of portions of Main, Depot, Church, Summer, McKee and Irish Streets for the event.
Approval was granted for a special event sign for the “Journey Through Christmas” at Eastside Baptist Church on Serral Drive. The 7th annual live dramatic presentation on the church grounds will be December 13th through the 15th.
