Volunteers with the Greeneville Emergency and Rescue Squad, Camp Creek and Tusculum Volunteer Fire Departments, rescued an injured hiker from the Margarette Falls Trail on Saturday.
A 70-year-old female fell on the trail near the falls, about one-and-a-half miles from the parking area. She reportedly sustained ankle and hip injuries and was unable to walk.
Volunteers were called around 3:30 PM along with deputies with the Sheriff’s Department and EMS. They reached the victim around 4:00 PM. She was carried down in a basket by the volunteers and deputies and EMS personnel, arriving at a waiting ambulance around 6:00 PM.
She was then transported for treatment of her injuries.
