Two people were seriously injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash along the East Andrew Johnson Highway.
The crash occurred around 2:45 Sunday in the 3300 block of the East Andrew Johnson Highway near Pal’s. A 2016 Ford Fusion driven by Scott Wells was attempting to pull through the crossover into the northbound lanes when it was struck by a 2006 Chevy Silverado driven by Ryan Brown.
Wells was transported by Highlands Air Rescue to Johnson City for treatment of suspected major injuries. His passenger, Mary Burns, was taken to Johnson City by EMS with suspected major injuries as well. Brown was not injured in the collision.
All three occupants were wearing shoulder and lap belts, and air bags deployed in both vehicles, which were towed from the scene.
The Greeneville Police Department responded along with EMS, Rescue Squad and the Greeneville Fire Department.
