A man died in a motorcycle accident Saturday morning less than a mile from his home.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says that Pete Junior Shelton of Old Mountain Road died when his motorcycle left the right side of the roadway and went into a ditch. The wreck happened just before 7:00 AM as Shelton was travelling east on Old Mountain Road, near the intersection of Shelton Mission Lane.
The THP says that Shelton was wearing a helmet, but died at the scene.
The Camp Creek Volunteer Fire Department and EMS responded to the scene.
