A criminal summons was issued against a man who reportedly assaulted another driver during a road rage incident and then vandalized a car belonging to a witness Friday evening.
The incident occurred near Baileyton Friday evening when a man said that he was driving down the Horton Highway and the suspect got behind him in a black truck. The suspect then passed the man and stopped in the roadway at Kite Road, at which time the suspect got out of his vehicle and began to hit the victim multiple times and ripped off his shirt.
After striking the man, the suspect went over to a vehicle where a witness was sitting who had called dispatch to report the altercation. According to the woman, the suspect moved his bowels on the woman’s car before leaving the scene.
The man who was punched by the suspect was located a short while later but declined to press charges. A summons for vandalism and indecent exposure was obtained for the incident involving the witness.
