A free online training will be held today regarding “How to talk to parents about their children’s behavior.” This training through a recorded video relates to unattended children and will review how poverty affects parenting, the “family stress model” and how it relates to parenting, and two key strategies for engaging with parents.

The training, which is about 50 minutes long, will be taught by Ryan Dowd, former Executive Director of Hesed House, a large homeless shelter outside Chicago. Since 2016 his trainings have been utilized by thousands of libraries, local government, businesses, and nonprofits. The Greene County Anti-Drug Coalition has also worked with Dowd.
