Criminal impersonation, falsification of a drug test, and possession of Methamphetamine were among the charges a Bulls Gap man received during a traffic stop on Wednesday.
An officer was on routine patrol near Tusculum Boulevard when he saw a man he believed to be Scott Simmons driving. Simmons was showing a suspended license during a records check. The officer stopped him around 1 PM and asked him if he was Scott. The man replied his name was Chad and said he was on his way to pick up his brother Scott from probation.
Further research confirmed the suspect indeed Scott Simmons and he was arrested. Simmons said he lied because he did not want to go to jail. He was found to have an active warrant. During a vehicle search, about three grams of Meth was located along with other items including a synthetic urinating system used to falsify drug tests.
He was charged with Driving on Suspended License, Criminal Impersonation, Possession of Meth, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Schedule III Drug, and Falsification of a Drug test.
