Andrew Johnson Amateur Radio Club (AJARC) will be hosting the Greeneville Hamfest April 20th, 2024 at the Greene County Fairground.  This is the AJARC Annual Radio, Computer, and Electronics Swapmeet. Everyone is Welcome! The public is welcome and you do not need to be a ham radio operator to attend.

Flea Market Gates open at 7 AM for Everyone! The commercial building opens to the general public at 730 AM.  Outside Flea Market Vendors may set up after 3 PM Friday and overnight parking is allowed.

The Grand Prize Drawing will take place at 12 noon and you do not have to be present to win. A Chairman’s Mystery Prize drawing will be held at 11AM and you must be present to win. Over $3000 dollars in door prizes will be given away during the event. You must be present to win the other door prizes.

Admission for 2024 is $10 per person (Under 12 FREE). All outdoor flea market spaces are $5 each.

Ham Radio licensing testing will be held at 10am by WCARS on the stage. Please bring a copy of your current license and a valid ID. Cost to take the exam is $10 (exact change appreciated). There is an additional $35 fee charged by the FCC that you must submit through the FCC website.

If you are unlicensed, you must obtain an FRN from the FCC if you do not have one in order to take the exam. https://apps.fcc.gov/cores/html/know.html

What is a Hamfest? It is a get-together of amateur radio operators, many experimenters, makers, and those that have other interests besides amateur radio also attend. One never knows what may appear in the flea market, often referred to as “The Boneyard”. Boxes full of “junk” can be waiting to be prowled through and the meaning of “one man’s junk is another man’s treasure” sometimes comes true.

If you have surplus electronic items, radios, TV’s, test equipment, car audio, computers, or almost anything else that could be used by an electronics enthusiast, then load them up and bring them to sell or trade. Many attendees bring their spouses and children. Vendors that also include items that are not electronics related that appeal to the ladies and children usually do well.

Come early as the bargains disappear quickly. It ends at noon or early as a majority of vendors are getting ready to leave for the day and tend to lower prices to avoid taking things home. Sometimes items that are not wanted are given away!

The 2025 Greeneville HamFest will be held April 19th, Easter Weekend, at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
