A man was arrested on Sunday afternoon at a Gas Station on the 2400 block of East Andrew Johnson Highway after an employee reportedly flagged down a Tusculum Police Officer regarding an impaired male who pulled into the gas station acting erratic.
According to the report, when the officer arrived he saw the male running from inside the gas station’s store to a vehicle outside. The suspect was identified as Jason W. Baucom of Afton and was detained. The employee said the suspect arrived at the gas station, got out of the vehicle and ripped his shirt off. He then reportedly crawled back into the vehicle through the driver door, went back out through the passenger door and onto the ground.
The employee stated Baucom then grabbed another shirt and tied it around his head. Baucom allegedly left cigarettes inside the store before running out when the officer arrived. Inside the cigarette box was a substance believed to be Methamphetamine. During a search, Baucom was allegedly found to have had more Meth (total less than a gram) on him and another unknown drug. He was arrested, charged with Driving Under Influence (2ND) and Possession of Schedule II drug.
