Greeneville’s tennis teams picked up a pair of victories over visiting Morristown West Tuesday afternoon at the Greene County Tennis Center. The Lady Devils, now 2-0 on the season, jumped out to a 5-1 lead behind individual wins by Emma Sauceman (8-1), Maggie Morelock (8-5), Kiley Scott (8-6), Abikate Moore (8-1) and Jorja Ward (8-1). Doubles wins by Morelock & Scott (8-5) and Moore & Brylee Catron (8-1) helped propel the Lady Devils to the 7-2 win.
On the boys’ side, the Devils Picked up their first victory of the season, while evening their record at 1-1. Jackson Weems (8-0), Jack Lampe (9-8, 7-2), Nick Thomas (8-4), and Ace Patel (8-4) each claimed singles wins to build a 4-2 advantage. The doubles teams of Weems & Lampe (8-1) along with Thomas & Patel (8-6) would defeat their opponents and send the Devils to the 6-3 win.
Greeneville’s next action will be on Thursday afternoon as they travel to Hamblen County to face off with the Morristown East Hurricanes. Match time is set for 4pm at Frank Lorino Park.
