The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning, which is in effect for the Southeastern part of the county until 7 this evening. South winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 85 mph are expected.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for Greene County from 7 PM this evening until 1 PM on Wednesday, with west winds 25 to 35 mph, and gusts up to 55 mph expected.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
Heavy rainfall is also expected at times with this system this morning, which may result in localized flooding. Light snowfall is possible in higher elevations of the mountains. Light accumulations will be most likely in the mountains above 3,000 feet.
