A Chuckey man was arrested on Sunday with disorderly conduct and public intoxication after deputies were notified of a man beating a dog.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to Prairie Lane where they found suspect Jeffrey Jones reportedly in an extremely agitated mood. According to the report, dispatch stated Jones was allegedly beating his dog, said he was going to kill it and anyone else who responded to the residence.
Jones reportedly refused to calm down when speaking to deputies, had slurred speech, and smelled of alcohol. After another attempt was made to calm him down, he allegedly turned his back and said for deputies to take him in. He was transported to the Greene County Detention Center.
