The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported this afternoon that Greene County’s unemployment rate in November was 4.6 percent, up from 4.4 percent in October.
Greene County’s rate a year ago was 4.2 percent.
The unemployment rate for November 2024 increased in 48 counties, decreased in 17 counties, and remained the same in 30 counties. Moore and Williamson counties had the lowest rate at 2.6 percent, while Unicoi County had the highest rate at 6.0 percent. A total of 91 counties had rates less than 5 percent.
The state unemployment rate for November was 3.5 percent, up from 3.3 percent in October. Unlike the state rate, county rates are not adjusted to account for seasonal impacts on employment.
