The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is investigating two convenience stores that reportedly sold alcoholic and hemp products to underage customers over the weekend.
On Saturday afternoon, a person under the age of 18, under the direction of law enforcement, entered a convenience store on Asheville Highway and purchased beer and a hemp product.
Later on Saturday, two people under age 21 entered a convenience store on Tusculum Boulevard and purchased hemp products. That report did not indicate if the two entered the store under the direction of law enforcement.
Two employees were issued summons to appear in court for selling the items to underage customers.
