A Midway man was taken into custody after he got pulled over for speeding Saturday and an open bottle of whiskey was found by his feet.
Officers were patrolling the area when they saw a vehicle driving down Midway Road going 50 in a 35 mph speed zone. According to the report, contact was made with the driver, John Howington, when officers noticed a bottle of whiskey on the floorboard by his feet. After running the suspects information, his license showed to be revoked, and he was asked to step out of the vehicle.
Officers then reportedly noticed the whiskey bottle was no longer in sight. When questioned the suspect stated it was under the seat and admitted he only took a couple sips. According to the report, there was a small amount missing from the bottle. Howington was arrested with Open Container Law, Suspended/Revoked License, and was written a warning for speeding.
