According to the National Weather Service in Morristown, gusty winds across the East TN mountains today where gusts from 25 to 35 mph will be common.
The highest peaks of the mountains will see gusts from 40 to 50 mph. While a few isolated locations will likely see Advisory level wind gusts, most locations will not, so no Wind Advisory will be issued. Near zero to single digit Wind Chills are expected across all of our mountain areas today.
We will see Wind Chills from the upper 20s to mid 30s for most valley locations, which is quite low for this time of year. Lows will be below 20 degrees tonight. Temperatures will start to warm throughout the week.
