A Greeneville man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for public intoxication on Old Baileyton Road.
Deputies responded before 5 PM to find the suspect Corey Sweat sitting off the roadway in a vehicle. According to the Greene County Sheriff’s report, Sweat was asked to step out the vehicle after a knife was seen on the passenger seat and because of his fidgety behavior.
During a pat down for safety matters, deputies located a syringe in his front pocket. Due to Sweat allegedly having his pupils dilated and because of his behavior, he was placed under arrest and charged for Public Intoxication. He was transported to the Greene County Detention Center.
