A couple were charged with multiple drug violations following a welfare check Saturday.
Around 10:00 AM Saturday, officers were dispatched to a residence on Elk Street. A woman, Amber Walker of Phipps Road in Rogersville, was said to be ready to cut herself with a knife. Officers spoke with Walker, who reportedly said she was not suicidal and that her husband, Brandon Walker of Old Highway 70 South, had called dispatch for the purpose of getting her arrested.
A search found .7 grams of Meth within Amber’s wallet, and a used glass pipe, syringe, pill grinder, and two-quarter-pieces of Buprenorphine in the home. Amber Walker was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Simple Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Schedule III Drugs.
Brandon Walker was not at the residence, but was arrested on warrants later on East Andrew Johnson Highway, for identical charges.
