A public hearing for the second and final reading to expand the board of commissioners of the Greeneville Municipal Airport Authority was held yesterday afternoon at the Greeneville City Council meeting.
With no one speaking at the hearing against the expansion it was approved. Two more Commissioners will be appointed to the board, Justin Jeffers and Catherine Bacon, making the total now seven members.
Applicant Jeff Collins was appointed for Town vacancy on the Regional Solid Waste Planning Board for a six-year term. Applicant Doug DeBusk was appointed for a six-year term on the Industrial Development Board of Greene County and was reappointed to Greeneville Parking Authority for a two-year term. Additionally, Doug Fezell was approved to fill vacancy on the Greeneville Water and Light Commission board with the term ending in 2028.
Further more, all items on the agenda were approved including: the purchase of firefighting equipment for new E-2 Rescue Pumper, a resolution for the Town of Greeneville to Apply, Accept, Administer, and Amend an Arts Build Communities grant, and a Special Event Application to close North College Street and portions of Summer, Main, and Tusculum Boulevard for the American Downtown 4th of July celebration.
