One person died following a wreck around 11:00 this morning on the Erwin Highway.
A Dodge Ram truck driven by 64-year-old George Baker was stopped on the highway to turn left into the Dollar General Store near the 107 Cutoff intersection. Another Dodge Ram driven by 51-year-old Michael Nolan was traveling east on Erwin Highway and stopped for Baker’s truck. A Chevy Impala driven by 92-year-old Claude Landers then struck Nolan’s truck in the rear, which hit Baker’s truck.
Landers died following the accident, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report. Baker and Nolan were not injured. A passenger in Nolan’s vehicle also did not suffer any injuries.
