Greeneville High School is excited to have Dr. Kimber McIntyre join the administrative team. Having served as an educator for 18 years, her dedication to student success, support of teachers, and willingness to build on the traditions of success have been clearly demonstrated. Principal DeAnna Martin states, “We are very proud to name Dr. McIntyre as Assistant Principal of GHS. She is committed to making Greeneville High School an innovative place to work and learn. She has dedicated the past seventeen years to GHS and the Greene Devil community, and she will be a strong addition to our administrative team”.
McIntyre graduated from Tusculum University in 2005 with a B.A. in Elementary Education and a minor in Biology. She continued her education at Union College to gain a M.A. degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2008 and later acquired an Ed.S. in Instructional Leadership in 2011 at Lincoln Memorial University. McIntyre earned an Ed.D. in Instructional Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University in May 2022.
Dr. McIntyre started her teaching career at Chuckey-Doak High School in 2005 as a Physical Science and Biology teacher. She also served as the varsity volleyball coach. She moved to Greeneville City Schools the following year and has served in numerous capacities at Greeneville High School. She has taught Biology and life sciences at Greeneville High School for the past 17 years. For the last eight years, Dr. McIntyre has served with excellence as the 21st CCLC Site Director and Summer School Coordinator, as well as serving on the Greeneville High School leadership team.
Dr. McIntyre has shown additional leadership qualities during her tenure at Greeneville High School. Leadership positions included National Honor Society sponsor, GEA Scholarship Committee Chairperson, student teacher mentor, Science Olympiad coach, student council sponsor, science textbook committee, ACT mentor, volleyball coach, and foreign exchange coordinator/host. Dr. McIntyre also has served on committees evaluating and creating state test questions, scoring for Biology, and certification for teachers.
Dr. McIntyre was selected as Greeneville High School’s teacher of the year for the 2022-2023 school year and as the district teacher of the year the same year. She has been selected as a recipient of the Greeneville City Schools Education Foundation FOCUS Grant multiple times. She served as a Tennessee Rural STEM Collaborative Innovator in 2019-2020 where she worked with a cohort of educators from across Tennessee to work towards ensuring that all students have access to high-quality learning opportunities in STEM by exposing them to 21st Century Skills and local STEM career pathways. Dr. McIntyre was a National Young Leaders Educational Conference Leader and Mentor in 2014. In 2012, she was inducted as a Tennessee STEM Leadership Academy Fellow. Dr. McIntyre was voted as a National Youth Leadership forum on Medicine honorary member in 2012 and 2011. She was a Niswonger Grant recipient in 2011.
Dr. McIntyre has one son, Braxden Crum, who is a student at ETSU. She enjoys running, kayaking, hiking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
