A Kingsport Highway man was issued a summons and cited after he was charged with criminal impersonation for following a woman and allegedly claiming he was undercover with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
The impersonation was reported last week after the victim stated she pulled into a parking spot at Hobby Lobby on Tusculum Boulevard and was followed by a sliver Ford SUV. The SUV pulled in behind her car blocking her in. According to the report, the man later identified as Harry Carrier, stated she was speeding and failed to yield when driving. Carrier went to the Greeneville Police Department afterwards to report the woman speeding and not paying attention, stating she almost killed them both, but had a different story. Carrier said he was questioned by the woman and told her he used to work at the sheriff’s department.
After further investigation a summons was issued. Carrier was located at Malone’s on Kingsport Highway and was served the summons and cited for impersonating a police officer.
