Details were released regarding the motor vehicle accident yesterday morning at I-81 north, near MM 24.
The accident occurred before 11 AM yesterday after a vehicle with a horse trailer attached, was traveling on the interstate. According to the report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the driver suffered a medical condition while driving and blacked out in the right lane. The vehicle crossed over into the left lane and went into a median, striking multiple trees, coming to an uncontrolled rest at the edge of a cliff.
There was a horse inside the trailer which animal control took possession of. The driver was transported to Johnson City Medical Center with no life threatening injuries. EMS, the Mosheim Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Management Agency responded.
