A church on South Main Street reported their account for the church, which is used to help people pay bills or rent, was recently used and accessed by someone not affiliated with the church.
According to the report from the Greeneville Police Department, the complainant who works in the office at Asbury United Methodist Church, stated on Tuesday suspect Chassiti Hazelwood used their account for cash app, capital one, and another service called xoom for payments. It is not certain how the suspect obtained the account information, but the suspects name appeared on a transaction for cash app, which has not been associated with the church in the past.
The total amount of funds taken was $442.
