Former Greeneville Fire Chief Jim Bowman passed away this morning at the age of 79.
Bowman first started with the Greeneville Fire Department in 1971. He became chief in 1994 and held the position until his retirement in 2006.
The family will receive friends at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday, February 22. Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service in Oak Grove Cemetery, where the Greeneville Fire Department will perform a bell ceremony and serve as pallbearers. The Greene County Honor Guard will also convey military honors.
