Areas of black ice are possible this morning, mainly along back roads with limited direct sunlight exposure during the day, such as usually shady locations and northerly facing hills.
In addition, patchy freezing fog has developed near rivers and lakes. This fog will be capable of depositing a thin layer of ice on exposed surfaces. Bridges, overpasses, and elevated highways near area rivers and lakes are most at risk of becoming slick.
Use caution if traveling this morning. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. Roads that appear wet may still have black ice, which can be difficult to see.
Conditions are forecast to improve between 9 AM and 10 AM.
