Greeneville Light & Power has announced that TVA is asking them to institute rolling blackouts for a short period of time this morning in Greene County.
Around 10:45 AM, he rolling blackout is affecting parts of Tusculum, Chuckey, Albany, and the Crossroads substations. The total outage time should be no more than twenty minutes. That was followed by rolling blackouts for areas served by the Nolichuckey, Snapps Ferry, Baileyton, and an Erwin Highway substation.
The next portion affected will be out the Kingsport Highway, Shiloh, and Warrensburg areas. Followed by outages along the Erwin Highway, Industrial Road near Snapps Ferry, and another area in Nolichuckey.

Other counties and electric companies have also been told to institute these blackouts. Around 11 AM, 6,000 were without power in Hamblen County, 2,500 were out in Washington County, almost 1,000 were out in Cocke County, and 2,400 were without power in Sevier County.
